It's been a few weeks since

started our online campaign for Dungeons and Dragons and I can say...I'm not surprised that we're going no where fast.
Time constraints, passing out like a narcoleptic walrus, and the DM not being present has truly fucked the adventure over a bit. Though I'm not pointing fingers because I'm just as much to blame as anyone. <.< hell even last night I fucked up and passed out during the campaign. (note that I had been out partying the previous night and had a hangover) Any who, I've decided to compile what's happened so far in our campaign for you my watcher to read.
My character Coryn Milon is a half-elf warlock who has just come upon age of 16 so he is fairly new to adventuring. Upon leaving his home town he learns of strange happening going on in the town of Fallcrest and decided to go investigate. As he sets out on the road to Fallcrest he is ambushed and awakes within the walls of Fallcrest prison, locked within one of it's cells. Across from my cell sat a dwarf who introduced himself as Adrik, and explained to me that I had been falsely captured in order to be pitted against other prisoners in an underground arena that is ran by the head of the prison. Before we could finish our conversation I was pulled from my cell and handcuffed. I was lead down a hallway and brought into an office where a male human sat behind a desk. He explained to me that in order for me to survive I would have to fight, plain and simple. Death was not an option so I agreed to fight within the arena. The guard which had handcuffed me and brought me to the office quickly whisked me away into an empty room with a chest and a door. The entrance to the room was locked and suddenly the guard's voice echoed throughout the room thanks to the help of magic, "Your items are within the chest, whenever you're ready proceed to the door in front of you and press the button."
It did not take me long to dawn my leather armor and retrieve my implement rod from the chest. Once I pressed the button on the wall, the door in front of me opened and was followed by a loud roar. I proceeded outwards and found myself standing on the floor of the arena. The roar was coming from the many people who sat in the stands, each and everyone of them looked more blood thirsty than the last. It was a very unnerving feeling to be surrounded by so many people, but the worst part was hearing the voice of the announcer shout out, "Competitor, approach the red line in the middle of the arena to proceed with the match." I did as the announcer told and was then met with my opponent, a halfling who was wielding a sling. Suddenly I found myself struck with multiple projectiles but his attacks were in vain. I quickly dispatched him without and remorse.
As the small figure fell to the ground out stepped two guards who quickly drug the body off into the room. Thinking the match was over, I lowered my rod and listened as the crowd cheered. Suddenly the announcer's voice rang out again, "Prepare for the next match!" I gritted my teeth when I saw who my next opponent was. There stood Adrik, no more than six feet away from myself. Before the match begun I tried to speak to him and come up with an alternative for us facing each other, but to no avail. I was met with the hilt of a hammer being jabbed into my throat. "Act as if you're struggling, we don't need them discovering us." Adrik whispered in my ear, moving me into a slight choke hold. "I have been within these walls for a long time and have made friends with many guards. I have learned there is a magical barrier that blocks magic users abilities and weakens the strength of the greatest warriors. The only way to get around the barrier is to have in your possession a shard which each guard carries on there person. Later tonight when you return to your cell, your items will be waiting for you and my friend shall give you his shard in order to help you in your escape. Coryn, it was no coincidence that you were placed in the same cell block as me. I knew that you had the ability to end this madness, but it is now up to you whether or not you decide to. As for me...my time is coming to an end. Coryn in order for this plan to work you must vanquish me."
After finishing his speech to me, Adrik released me and lowered his hammer with a sad smile on his face. Then, with white knuckles I raised my rod and called forth a dark blast of Eldritch energy which went hurling into Adrik, dropping him instantly. I turned away from his body and walked off with tears of anger streaming down my face. I returned into the preparation room and removed my equipment, grinding my teeth in frustration. The same guard pulled me from the preparation room and drug me back into the office, where the man introduced himself as Lord Kamroth, head of the Fallcrest prison. I was disgusted to learn that I was being held under the false pretenses of murdering a guard. Though i understood that the only truth that existed within the walls of the prison was Kamroth's own.
When I was returned to my cell I found my items were in fact returned to me, along with a bag of holding that contained a shard from the on duty guard. The guard stopped outside of my cell and then looked over into Adrik's with a frown on his face,"I'm in charge of this block so you don't have any worry about anyone bothering you. I'll be right outside if you need anything." Hastily I equipped my items and then faced the door to my cell. The lock which kept it closed was simple and could easily be blown off with a bit of magic. I summoned forth the dark Eldritch energy once again, this time from the end of my finger, and fired it into the lock. The lock exploded with a loud cackling noise which brought the on duty guard down. "I could have unlocked that for you. Let's hope that no one was alarmed by the sound and decides to come investigate." the guard said, inspecting the remains of the lock. The guard was very helpful and told me that once I escaped to seek out Lord Avalon for help. Knowing that I would need evidence to back up my accusation against a noble such as Lord Kamroth, I proceeded in the direction of his office for one last time. As I made my approach I discovered Kamroth had left beast guarding the door to his office. The winged creature back was turned to me, giving me the upper hand. Lifting my rod, I quickly attacked the creature and dispatched it. Upon examining the remains I found a shard which contained a strange circle. By scanning my memory of arcane symbols I realized that the creature I just had dispatched was none other than a homunculus. In order for one to summon a homunculus, one must either be a powerful wizard, or have a great understanding of alchemy. Either way it spelled much trouble for myself. Not wishing to allow a chance for myself to be caught, I slipped into the office and began searching for any evidence of Kamroth's crimes. Instead of any documents which held the names of competitors or earnings from the fights, I discovered an arcane tome upon Kamroth's desk. Then from behind me came a familiar voice which caused my spine to go stiff. "Don't be so hasty Mr. Warlock, let's sit down and have a chat, shall we?"
The blood ran cold in my veins, "What is it you would like to chat about?" I gripped my rod tightly, trying to keep my composure. I must admit at this moment I could not have been more frightened.
"Perhaps how you were able to acquire that shard? It seems as if I have a mole in my guards. Either way you might want to move away from that book." Kamroth said, his eyes fixated on my position.
Not wishing to push my luck any further than I already was, I placed the book back down on the desk and strafed sideways away from the desk. "And why is that? What does someone like you need with a tome as that one?" I asked, my nervousness was beginning to show.
"What I do in my spare time is none of your concern." Kamroth scoffed drawing a wand from his sleeve. "Now put down your rod and I will think about sparing your life."
If I were to drop my rod I knew that Kamroth would have a better chance to kill me, but I also knew that if I didn't I would risk any chance I might have had to escape this place alive. I decided to take my chances and dropped my rod on the floor in front of me.
"You are smart, but perhaps a bit gullible, now for the question of what to do with you. A body found in my office would certainly look bad, perhaps decentigration? Or maybe I should just put you into the nine hells?" Kamroth asked himself aloud.
"Why go through the trouble and waste the magic on me though after all I'm just a drifter, an outsider. I have no credibility here, who would believe me if I were to escape and say what goes on within these walls?" I asked, trying to stall for time.
"Who knows? The imbeciles of this town will believe anything! How do you think I can do this?" Kamroth questioned, retrieving the tome from his desk. After flipping through the pages he finally stopped, "This happens to be my spell book. I must thank you for releasing it. Now...any last words before I send you through the nine hells?"
There was nothing left for me to do, I was looking down the business end of a wand that was being held by an incredibly powerful wizard. To try and fight back would've been suicide.... I smiled halfheartedly and said, "May the whispers of the fey guide my hand." Suddenly my eyes began to glow with brilliant colors. With a quick flash, Kamroth winced in pain.
"Your tricks are no match for me warlock. Your eyebite barely effects me!" he shouted casting bolts of lightning it what he believed was my direction. Thanks to my spell he was unable to see my exact location but I was still struck with one of the bolts. I decided that it was now the time for me to bring out one of my stronger spells. From my hand I conjured forth a blade of flickering venom and tossed it into Kamroth.
"I underestimated you Mr. Milon...I shall not do that again." Kamroth stood up and began to irradiate with a dark aura which suddenly change into a light chrome color. Before I could move he casted forth a multicolored bolt which pierced into me. My vision began to fade and suddenly my mind was swept away by many images.
After a few minutes, a beautiful woman appeared before me with her hand outstretched. A bright light irradiated from her very form. "He will not do as he wishes. Be careful Coryn Milon there are forces at work than are far greater than you know. She said extending her hand out further.
Her presence was almost unbearable, staring towards her direction was almost blinding. I knew so little compared to this being, and it made me feel uncomfortable. Yet she seemed to not have an intent to hurt me. I once again left my fate to chance and took her hand within my own, "There is so much that I do not know..." As I touched her hand I was filled with a surge of energy.
Her voice rang through my very body, "All we be clear in time, believe in your faith and we shall soon meet again."
My vision once again faded to black and I suddenly awoke to find myself lying in small bed with a dwarven woman sitting beside of me.
"Oh you're awake! I'm glad, you've been asleep for many hours. My name is Vistra, I'm a cleric here in Fallcrest."
My mind quickly shot back to the prison and Kamroth, then back to the woman. "I'm still in Fallcrest?.... I thought for sure I was dead..."
Vistra's face contorted into a small state of shock, "Still? You suddenly appeared almost a day ago at the doorsteps of the Temple of Erathis, passed out, but you didn't seem hurt. High Priestess Dirina had you put in here to recover. Are you ok? Are you feeling sick?"
I cupped my hands over my face and sighed, "I must speak to Lord Avalon, it is imperative that I see him as soon as possible."
I could tell my words astonished Vistra, "I'm afraid that's not possible right now..."
She explained to me that the high priestess had sense dark energy and left a few moments ago in order to investigate. Fearing that the dark presence was somehow connected to me I quickly asked Vistra if she could retrieve my gear. Upon looking inside of my bag I discovered my rod had been exchanged. This one was six inches shorter than myself, and once meeting with my hand, gold symbols appeared the most prominent of them all being the symbol of the goddess Ioun. That's when I found the scroll which had been left for me. As I unrolled it my fears were confirmed. It was a message form the high priestess asking for my help with the matter of the dark presence, but first she asked that I consult the gods for help. With much haste I made my way to the altar of Ioun and began to pray to my lady. Suddenly my mind was filled with a familiar voice that of the woman who's hand had been outstretched to me after being struck by Kamroth's magic.
"Coryn! You must hurry, Kamroth isn't who he claims to be! This is large, the gods are at war! Ioun chose you, that is why i helped you. She has sent me to awaken the power she has given you in battle. As you battle alone this power will protect you most beautifully."
From the very depths of my mind I felt a knew knowledge of a spell appear. The goddess Ioun had granted me the power to raise the dead in order to protect myself. With my new power in hand I relied on my own street smarts in order to traverse Fallcrest and find the high priestess. Darting through the streets and back alleys I suddenly was met by a very cold and uneasy feeling. Then as I turned down another Alley way I was met with the sight of Kamroth, who upon seeing me summoned forth a swarm of wingless red dragons who snapped at me with great force. As the swarm attacked me, Kamroth disappeared into the darkness leaving me to fend off the beasts. I decided with my new knowledge in hand I should practice it so I summoned forth from the ground a decrepit skeleton. (who did one hit of damage and then was destroyed, thanks Ioun!

) I finished off the beasts with a few blasts of Eldritch magic and did not falter from my original path. I soon found myself at the steps of Fallcrest Prison....a place that I did not wish to return to.
With a heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach I entered the doors to the prison and discovered the Priestess awaiting me outside of Kamroth's office. With what little breath I had left I explained the situation to the priestess who to my surprise believe me in all entirety.
We arrived back at the temple and was greeted happily by Vistra, who healed my wounds quickly. The high priestess offered me sanctuary at the temple which I happily accepted.
